Castro Cares: A unique, community collaborative effort providing dedicated homeless outreach & uniformed law enforcement in addition to the City’s baseline services.
What’s Happening Now!
Castro Cares has partnered with the SFAF to create a new position creating a more personal experience connecting people experiencing homelessness or those marginally housed with services and referrals.
Do you know someone who might be perfect for this position? Send them the full position description on the SFAF website. Available here.
Castro Cares is not static. We are flexible and try out different strategies. If one doesn’t work as well as hoped, we try another. Look forward to new ideas in 2018!
Castro Cares is working on changing our homeless outreach component to focus more on targeted case management and accompaniment to services/resources. We will let you know when this new program is up and running.
We continue to work with the City to live up to its responsibilities while also taking action to improve the quality of life for everyone in our neighborhood.
Castro Cares depends on your donations. Keep additional, dedicated law enforcement and homeless outreach services in the Castro/Upper Market.
Castro Cares brings additional, dedicated police patrols to the Castro & Upper Market.
